"European Terminology Summit 2016", Luxembourg on 14–15 November 2016.

EAFT, the European Association for Terminology, in collaboration with TermCoord, is organizing the Eighth European Terminology Summit in Luxembourg on 14–15 November 2016.
In 2016, the EAFT celebrates its 20th anniversary and it is also a Summit year. Therefore, the Summit will be a good opportunity to go back and look forward at the same time, to present both revisions of the themes of earlier Summits (to see what has happened since then) and visions of where terminology needs to go from there.
The overall topic for the summit is: Visions and revisions The Summit will be composed around 8 sections which summarize the themes of the earlier Summits (Cooperation & Collaboration, Social Media, Quality Matters, Responsibility, Interaction and Diversity, Terminology Profile, State Of The Art/Domain Loss, Declaration).
The idea is that each section will contain at least a revision and a vision related to the thematic of the section. Some areas which might appear to be missing from the above (e.g. terminology training, terminology research, terminology standardization, terminology management, terminology tools) are in fact not missing, but rather they could appear in several of the sections.
There will also be open sessions where professionals who want to share their experiences on the Summit topics can do so during a set time limit.

The call for presentations

The call for presentations for the Open Sessions is open until 11 July.
The notifications of acceptance will be given by 9 September.
An abstract in English or French and in your national language must be sent to EAFT Secretariat term@eaft-aet.net together with:
  • Name/names of the speakers
  • Institution
Do not hesitate to contact the EAFT Secretariat for further details, or if you have any questions.
