Translation Traineeships at the European Parliament

General conditions are:

be citizen of a Member State of the EU or of an applicant country;

aged 18 or over on the traineeship starting day;

not have been awarded any other (paid/unpaid) traineeship by or paid employment of an institution of the EU.
Translation traineeships are assigned to Luxembourg.

Paid Translation Traineeships
Applicants for paid translation traineeship must:
- have a university degree after a course or study of at least three years' duration;
- have a perfect knowledge of one of the official languages of the EU or of the official language of an applicant country, and a thorough knowledge of two others.
The duration of this training is three months.

- 1 January - 1 April - 1 July - 1 October	15 June - 15 August 15 September - 15 November 15 December - 15 February 15 March - 15 May

Unpaid translation traineeships
Unpaid translation traineeship shall be awarded for a period of one to three months.

Applicants for unpaid translation traineeships must have perfect knowledge of one of the official languages of the EU or of the official language of an applicant country, and a good knowledge of two others.

The traineeship must:
- form part of a course of study at a university or at an educational establishment of an equivalent standard,
- form one component of a high-level vocational training course organised by a non-profit-making body (in particular, public institutes or bodies), or
- be a requirement governing access to a profession.
